Rockcrawling

The World Extreme Rock Crawing Competition will begin the East Coast circuit on April 25-27 in Hannibal Mo. I’d be lying if I said I was anything less than excited, this might be the only competition I’m able to go to this year.
What is rock crawling? Probably the most fun you can have at 10 mph. The best way to describe the competition vehicles, better known as rock buggies, is to imagine a jungle gym with four giant tires and a motor. The weight-to-power ratio in the buggies is incredibly important. It has to be, the competitors tediously balance their machines on boulders and rolling becomes an art.
Vehicles are separated into classes depending on the level of modification. They compete using a point system similar to golf; the less you screw up the better you do. You really just need to experience it.

Brad styles rolls his unlimited class buggy during the 2006 World Extreme Rock Crawling competition in Jellico Tn. Styles and his team finished third for the day.

Marty Hart, of Rock Gator Racing, pilots his unlimited class buggy through one of the final courses of the day during the 2006 World Series of World Extreme Rock Crawling in Henderson, Nev. Hart and his team finished fifth overall.
