SIUC has an Autism research center that allows graduate students to study the behaviors of autistic children and help them to develop and cope with social situations. The groups of kids generally meet twice a week for two hours. They play together for a little while and then separate into individual development sessions.
I spent about an hour and a half with this group. I got permission from the asst. director to go back as many times as I need to and work on a story. The center might be a great subject for currents in a couple weeks. It will probably turn into a multimedia piece.

i know a couple of kiddos that would probably be pretty fun to shoot...
Did you see The Southern's story on the center? Check here: http://thesouthern.com/articles/2008/04/07/front_page/24017281.txt
I don't think you have to worry after all. The story focuses on one kid and touches on but is in no way limited to the center. So I say scratch my text from before. Go for it.
