Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders

Currents ran today. I was scrambling towards the end, but the story was completed. I’m fortunate to work with a staff that can at times, be incredibly helpful. My story had all the information; I did my job as a journalist but I had a little difficulty putting it all together into a solid body of work. My Editor-In-Chief Sarah Lohman and voices editor Diana really helped shape my story into an interesting look into the CASD program.
I’m happy with what ran in the paper, I’ve added a few pictures here that didn’t run in the paper because they didn’t represent my idea for the story.
I’m proud that the story was self-generated and that I developed another story idea from working in the CASD. Self generation is something that I need to work on. There are great stories out there to document as long as I take the time to so out and fins them. Finding my own stories and doing my own writing is a great feeling sure, but it makes me a more complete photojournalist. I’m not just a photographer I’m a journalist too.
