Happening

It’s been a long time since I last posted. A lot has happened since then.

The family went to Disney World May 9-18, and it was amazing. There was about a five-day period when I didn’t even touch my laptop. I took on each day with the D2X a two-gigabyte memory card and my 17-35mm lens. Almost all of the pictures made – a little over 4,600 – were taken with that lens. After five months I finally got into my groove with the camera. Max Bittle laughed at me today when I told him that. He asked, “You found yourself in Disney?” I guess I did. I’ve been far more confident since I’ve come back.

Some of the best pictures made were in Cocoa Beach. We spent Thursday and Friday night at the Holiday Inn at Cocoa right on the beach. Armed with two 2-gallon plastic bags masking and duct tape I built a rough splash bag for my camera to keep the saltwater and spray from eating away at my camera.

The light and variation on the Epcot Center dome (Bucky Dome!! heh) is really spectacular. Great toning bud.
