Random

That’s really the best way I can describe this happening.

Ok, so I’m south of Nashville Il. And I’m accelerating out of a construction zone. I get up to just under 65 MPH… Lately I’ve been a little paranoid about birds while I’m driving, they just seem to be a little crazier this year.

Sure enough a bird comes at me from the left – I’m driving my Jeep with all the windows down – so I ducked, I felt stupid but I did it anyway. I heard a loud THWAP! from behind me and looked up at my window frame in disbelief of the fact that a bird had just hit my Jeep.

Then I looked back at the road and glanced over into my passenger seat, did a double take, and there the bird lay dead. I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t know what else to do so amidst cursing at the bird I took a picture with my camera phone and sent out a bulk text before turning off the highway at the next opportunity.

After I got the Jeep stopped I got out and realized the bird had hit the inside of my window frame and apparently blew up on impact splattering birdy blood across my no longer existing head liner. I realized through looking through the backseat window that pieces had not only flown across the vehicle but that a good chunk had come to rest in my hair.

Gross

After that moment I walked to the other side of the Jeep and removed the Goldfinch from my passenger seat. The passenger side backseat was probably the worst, the front just had a smattering of blood on the seta, the back had guts.

The experience could have been worse. I could have not ducked and been possibly knocked out, or I could have ended up with a bird flying around in the back of my Jeep. Either way it was probably the most random experience I’ve had in a while.

Seriously. Those were some of the funniest fucking texts you've sent me in a long time. Nice work.
